Spiddal’s Annual Dog Show to Highlight Community Spirit at Taispeántas Chois Fharraige
Spiddal will once again welcome wagging tails and cheering crowds as the much-loved MADRA Dog Show takes centre stage during Taispeántas Chois Fharraige on Sunday, 7th September.
Hosted in partnership with The Twelve Hotel, the show offers ten categories open to dogs of every breed and background, promising a fun-filled afternoon for animal lovers and families alike in the heart of the Cois Fharraige Gaeltacht.
A distinguished judging panel will oversee the competition, ensuring fairness and plenty of expertise. This year’s line-up includes broadcaster and presenter Niamh Ní Chróinín, former Galway Bay FM voice and Age Friendly Ambassador Keith Finnigan, TG4’s Ros na Rún star Máire Éilís Ní Fhlaithearta, along with MADRA co-founder and chairperson Marina Fiddler. Their combined experience guarantees a lively and engaging contest for all participants.
The Dog Show is just one feature of the broader Spiddal Show, a long-standing festival celebrating rural traditions, creativity, and community life. From livestock competitions to craft displays, the event shines a spotlight on local talent and cultural pride every year.
