And they lived happily ever after … We as a family cannot thank MADRA enough for the match they made for us with little Bear!! She is the most affectionate, gentle, beautiful soul that we have ever been gifted with. We all love her. She is energetic, affectionate, emotional, fun and kind.

I fell last week walking her in the dark and the little pet couldn’t do enough for me. We have been so lucky with her. She settled so easily and we didn’t choose her. The expert volunteers from MADRA matched us with her and what a perfect fit we are. For anyone feeling lonely and capable and willing to put in the work with a loving dog, a dog is a gift that keeps on giving. I don’t think anyone could ever find loyalty like it, it’s unconditional love you get if you love them. To see the bond Bear already has with my son and how much she already loves and trusts us all makes it all ok. A companion for life. More than that. One of our family.

Brilliant staff, brilliant foster carers to dogs, and exceptional at matching the right dog to the right family. Remember these people are all volunteers. I hope to donate for life and maybe someday adopt another but not yet; it’s Bear's time now!! I feel so proud to know the selfless volunteers at MADRA and to have been given our little puppy gal a forever home.

One year ago today, on the 8th of November, our sweet little Moon joined our pack

When she first arrived, she was so scared and shaking… cowering in corners, hiding her tiny head, unsure if love was safe. She hadn’t been treated kindly in her early months of life, until the incredible team at @madradogrescue stepped in and gave her a second chance.

We travelled to Galway to meet her, and soon after, MADRA brought her all the way to us to make sure she settled in and felt safe. The team at MADRA were wonderful. They stayed in touch, their vet checked in on her, and a few weeks later they phoned to see how little Moon was glowing. Truly amazing through and through.

Bit by bit, she began to trust… trading her trembling for tail wags, her hiding spots for cuddles. Soon she was playing joyfully with her big brother DJ, the perfect pair, snuggled side by side every night.

Now, our magical, mischievous Moon loves her "walkies," “huggies,” and “belly rubbies” and fills our days with laughter, love, and a sprinkle of lunacy!

He continues to grow more confident every day and has taken to our new baby incredibly well.

In the last 6 months he has adapted to a house move, living with my partner's dog and the arrival of our baby so so well. Any of those could have thrown him but we often say he adapted the quickest and easiest!

For a pup so scared of contact at the start he loves nothing more in an evening than falling asleep next to you being stroked and if you dare stop he soon makes it known he want you to start again!

His latest thing is putting his snout in-front of you until you give him a kiss then he hops down and carries on with his business.

Thank you again for all you did for him at the start as he wouldn’t be the happy confident boy he is now without your initial love and care when he was picked up.

I can't believe it's 10 years since we brought her home. She was so scared of everything at first, I lay a bed down for her the first day and she couldn't move from it for 2 days. Day by day, she began to trust us and then others around us. She is a big shining light in our house, the love oozing from her just fills the house, she brings us such joy, we love her so much.
