Summer Foster Appeal

MADRA Summer Foster Appeal

This summer, MADRA Dog Rescue is appealing for more foster homes as we begin essential improvement works on our kennels thanks to recently secured funding.

While these upgrades will greatly improve the welfare and comfort of the dogs in our care, they also mean we need more temporary foster homes to help us continue our rescue work without interruption.

Fostering plays a vital role at MADRA. Every dog placed in foster care frees up a kennel space, allowing us to help more dogs in need. It also gives dogs the opportunity to settle into a home environment, helping us learn more about their personality and needs before finding their forever family.

We are particularly looking for foster homes for puppies, pregnant dogs, older dogs, dogs recovering from surgery or medical treatment, dogs who struggle in a kennel environment and those undergoing rehabilitation. We ask fosterers to commit to a minimum of four weeks, and while we generally look for homes in Galway City and County, we may consider homes further afield for certain dogs.

Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to support rescue dogs. Whether a dog needs a quiet place to rest, recover, build confidence or simply experience life in a home, your support can make a life-changing difference.

If you can open your home to a dog this summer, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can continue helping dogs while carrying out these important improvements to our shelter.
