More About Sandy
Hi, I’m Sandy, a 12-year-old Springer Spaniel and proud golden oldie in MADRA’s care. Life didn’t always look this kind for me. I was abandoned and left to survive on the streets and by the time I arrived at MADRA, I was injured, half starved and emotionally shut down. I had a long road ahead of me and it took time, patience and a lot of care to help me recover.
Over the following year, I moved between foster homes and had a couple of adoptions that didn’t work out. It was a difficult and uncertain time, but everything changed when I found my foster dad… and decided I was staying for good! I’ve happily “foster failed” into retirement, and now I finally have the stable, loving home I always needed.
These days, I enjoy a life full of companionship, good friends and plenty of walks, which I still mostly run, despite being 12 and having a heart murmur. I’m an affectionate old character who loves meeting people (and food, of course!) and I take my role as protector of my home very seriously – especially when it comes to bicycles!
As I grow older, I’ll need ongoing medical care and support to keep me comfortable and enjoying life. By sponsoring me, you’ll be directly helping to cover those costs and ensuring I can stay safe, loved and cared for in my forever home.
Your support means everything to me and helps ensure my heart medication and vet trips is covered.
