I have a heartbreaking story that has left me with lifelong scars, and I will need MADRA’s support for the rest of my life.

During a routine license check, the dog warden rescued me. My condition was severe—I had been confined to a small crate, covered in faeces and urine, and was heavily pregnant. The warden contacted MADRA immediately. They took me to the vet, cleaned me up, and placed me in a warm foster home to prepare for my puppies.

Unfortunately, the neglect I endured took a severe toll. Although I gave birth to eight puppies, I was too malnourished and exhausted to deliver them properly. It became an emergency caesarean, but sadly, my puppies passed away one by one. They never had a chance.

As a Cavachon from a “greeder,” I suffered significant internal damage that can never fully heal. I’ve undergone multiple surgeries, but the abuse has left me doubly incontinent.

Despite these challenges, I’m known as a happy, calm girl. My wonderful foster mom, Helen, has been helping me with regular acupuncture, which has provided some relief. MADRA is committed to caring for me for the rest of my life. Thanks to Helen’s patience, I’ve adapted to wearing nappies indoors and gaining confidence daily.

I am deeply grateful to be away from my previous life’s horrors. My foster mom describes me as the sweetest, happiest dog, and I love everyone I meet.
