Get ready, Galway! Doing It For The Dogs is back at the Claddagh Hall on Sunday, June 14th, 2026. Join us from 11 AM – 5 PM for our biggest celebration of rescue dogs yet.
This much-loved MADRA event brings together families, dog lovers, and the local community for a day of walks, wagging tails, and plenty of surprises—all while raising vital funds for dogs in need.

Safety & Kindness: To ensure a safe experience for everyone, all dogs must be kept on a short, fixed lead. Please follow marshal instructions at all times during the walk.

Every Dogathon step taken helps MADRA rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs who deserve a second chance. With the number of abandoned dogs on the rise, your support has never been more important.
Family Activities Throughout the Day

Children’s Face Painting
Young animal lovers can enjoy colourful face painting and join in the family fun.
Kids’ Dogathon
A shorter, family-friendly walking route designed especially for younger participants and their four-legged friends.
Arts & Crafts Corner
Creative activities for children, including dog-themed arts and crafts.
The Claddagh playground area provides additional outdoor fun for families throughout the event.

MADRA Silent Disco
Supported by The Róisín Dubh
Taking place outdoors beside the playground (weather permitting), our Silent Disco promises an afternoon of music, dancing, and fun for all ages.
Grab a headset, choose your channel, and dance the afternoon away with family, friends, and fellow dog lovers.
What’s Happening at the Claddagh Hall
11:00 AM – Event Opening
The day begins with a live acoustic performance from the talented **Galway Ukulele Tribe** as we officially open the event.
We will also announce the2026 Dogathon Grand Marshal, who will lead the day’s celebrations.
Grand Marshal Competition
The participant who raises the highest sponsorship total will have their dog crowned MADRA’s 2026 Grand Marshal, leading future events and serving as a MADRA ambassador throughout the year. Sign up and fundraise here:/www.idonate.ie/event/
The MADRA Dogathon Begins
Participants can set off on their chosen Dogathon route along the beautiful Salthill Promenade at any time from 11:00 AM.
